On behalf of Wipac Limited we developed the rear light for the new Volkswagen Phaeton 2010. The light design gives the rear of the VW Phaeton an unmistakable visual appearance, also by night. This is due to a combination of point-shaped lights with a characteristic LED band in the shape of an M.
Landaulet is a particular body form of a car. Landaulets are normally made from saloon cars by removing the rear part of the roof and replacing it with a folding top. This means that the driver and front-seat passenger still sit under a hardtop. At Maybach this required integrating a third stop lamp into the boot lid. The development of a specific optical system was required due to the restricted construction space in the rear lid and the design constraint of a narrow light emitting line.
At the IAA 2005, Webasto showed a Volkswagen Touareg-based concept car. Three independent comfort modules were the focus of this project: an integrated (external) shade including a panoramic roof, a cargo box and a multi-functional rear lid.
RUETZ TECHNOLOGIES developed the cowl at the front cross member and the control panel for controlling light, shade and roof system. By slightly touching the control panel, the roof opens and closes, quickly wiping over the entire panel will open or close the entire roof system and shade system.
